NM Racing Team returns with twin Mercedes-AMGs

NM Racing Team will return to the GT4 European Series grid this season after confirming its Mercedes-AMG entries for both the Silver and Pro-Am classes.

Experienced race winners Lluc Ibañez and Alexandre Papadopulos will return to spearhead the Spanish team’s Silver challenge, while the new pairing of Maximus Mayer and Max Huber is entered in the Pro-Am car.

Spaniard Ibañez has been one of the star drivers on the grid across recent years, racking up multiple wins and finishing as runner-up in the Silver points back in 2022. He and American Papadopulos have formed a potent team and took their breakthrough win together at Misano in 2024. Last year they were regular podium finishers on their way to fourth in the points.

Spanish driver Mayer will make his GT4 Europe debut having previously raced LMP3 machinery in the Le Mans Cup, becoming a race winner in 2024. Max Huber will also be new to the series, but not to the GT4 formula. He previously raced in ADAC GT4 Germany and won the 2024 GT4 Winter Series Am class title in an NM Mercedes-AMG.

NM Racing Team head Nil Montserrat says: “We are very excited to confirm two strong line-ups for the 2026 GT4 European Series. It’s great to have one car competing in each category: Silver Cup and Pro-Am.

“In the Silver Cup, the well-known and highly competitive pairing of Lluc Ibañez and Alex Papadopulos will once again aim to fight for top results and deliver strong performances throughout the season.

“In Pro-Am, Maximus Mayer and Max Huber will make their debut together in the series. Both drivers bring valuable motorsport experience, and we are confident they will adapt quickly to the GT4 European Series racing style. We are very excited and look forward to the season starting in Paul Ricard.”
