+ Result: Free Practice 2, Portimão
A superb effort from Viny Beltramelli ensured not just the fastest time in second practice at Portimão, but a top two lockout for Team Speedcar.
Beltramelli hit the front on his ninth lap and did just enough to hold off the challenge of the sister #8 Audi in the hands of Gregory Guilvert to secure top spot by just 0.047s.
Lachlan Evennett had set the early pace in his Speedy Motorsport Supra before Jay Mo Härtling looked to double up aboard the #110 SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm Mercedes-AMG. However, Härtling had no answer to Beltramelli, who twice set outright fastest laps to pull clear and secure top spot both overall and in Pro-Am for himself and Sacha Bottemanne.
Guilvert and Paul Petit were 0.2s ahead of Elite Motorsport drivers McKenzy Cresswell and Charlie Hart, who rounded out the day with two third places. Cameron McLeod and Erik Evans were fourth in the #61 Academy Motorsport Mustang ahead of an impressive effort from RACELAB’s Artura shared by George King and Colin Cronin. Härtling and Joel Mesch completed the top six.
Joachim Bölting led the way in Am, putting the #32 W&S Porsche just 0.029s ahead of Daniel Blickle and Max Kronberg’s sister car.
The session did feature one stoppage when the #88 Gianfranco Motorsport Supra became beached in the gravel with just minutes left.
Qualifying for the GT4 European Series is set to begin at 10:55 on Saturday.
