+ Result: Free Practice, Portimão
SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm claimed a one-two in the opening Free Practice session at Portimão, with the twin green-and-black Mercedes-AMGs getting their best times in early.
Making his GT4 Europe debut this weekend, GT2 Europe star Jay Mo Härtling set the pace aboard the German team’s #110 Mercedes-AMG, with the title-chasing sister car of Enrico Förderer following three tenths behind.
The session was then neutralised under a full course yellow when the guest entry #28 Racar Aston Martin ground to a halt entering the pits with a transmission problem. By the time the car was moved, improvements proved hard to come by, with Härtling’s peak tyre run remaining the top effort.
McKenzy Cresswell and Charlie Hart’s Elite McLaren was third, right behind Förderer and Fuchs, setting up a tight battle that should run across the weekend between the top two in the Silver points.
Roméo Leurs and Roberto Faria were fourth in their Mirage GR Supra ahead of the sister car of Ruben del Sarte and James Sherrington. Hudson Schwartz and Lucas Cartelle’s CRT-Sport Supra completed the top six.
Tim Horrell and Alon Gabbay topped Pro-Am in the #31 W&S Motorsport Porsche, ahead of the JSB Competition 718 Cayman of Julien Briche and Nicco Ferrarin while the local entry from GR Caetano Portugal was third in the hands of Francisco Mora and Jose Carlos Pires.
Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen were the fastest on the Am runners in their GR Sweden Supra ahead of Joachim Bölting’s W&S Porsche and Max Kronberg/Daniel Blickle in the #30 Cayman.
