Result: Free Practice 2, Zandvoort
Hendrik Still and Joachim Bölting showed they have lost none of the pace at Zandvoort by leading the way during second practice, signalling good things ahead of Qualifying tomorrow.
Despite an off-colour season so far, Still and Bölting bounced back to top the times aboard W&S Motorsport’s #32 Porsche on the Dutch coast, a track the pair celebrated a class victory at last year.
Robert Consani was quickest out of the blocks in the #1 Team Speedcar Audi before an impressive effort from series newcomer Kiano Blum helped the TeamFloral Ford Mustang ahead. Mees Houben was next to improve, slicing half a second off the benchmark in the #4 Speedy Motorsport GR Supra. A brief full course yellow to clear Ravi Ramyead’s Elite McLaren from the gravel interrupted the flow, but when running resumed Still found space in the Porsche and blitzed to the top by 0.2s before handing across to Bölting for the remainder of the session.
The only stoppage of the session was called to clear Benjamin Lariche’s #1 Audi from the gravel, leaving a few minutes on the clock for others to try and catch the Porsche, but none could manage it.
Houben and Lachlan Evennett were second – and the fastest Silver entry – ahead of pole-sitters here last year, Gregory Guilvert and Paul Petit in the #8 Team Speedcar Audi. Roberto Faria and Roméo Leurs’ Mirage Supra was fourth, a tenth ahead of Yani Stevenheydens/Henry Joslyn’s Elite McLaren. Nathan Vanspringel and Erik Evans were sixth in their Academy Motorsport Ford.
W&S Porsche drivers Daniel Blickle and Max Kronberg continued to stay in control of the Am fight ahead of Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen’s Gazoo Racing Sweden Supra.
Qualifying is set for 11:15 on Saturday.
