Elite McLarens on top in opening Zandvoort practice

Result: Free Practice, Zandvoort

Charlie Robertson and Ravi Ramyead set the pace in the first Free Practice session at Zandvoort as the Elite Motorsport McLarens locked out the top three.

Robertson went fastest on just his fourth lap before handing across to Ramyead with the car almost a full second clear. Charlie Hart and McKenzy Cresswell then made it an Elite one-two by cutting that gap to 0.6s, and Yani Stevenheydens then put the team’s other Artura third, marking a strong start for himself and new team-mate Henry Joslyn.

Robertson and Ramyead therefore topped the Pro-Am order also, with Hart and Cresswell the fastest Silvers.

Mees Houben and Lachlan Evennett were the fastest non-McLaren with their Speedy Motorsport GR Supra in fourth ahead of the CRT-Sport version shared by Hudson Schwartz and Lucas Cartelle. Paul Petit and Gregory Guilvert completed the top six in their Team Speedcar Audi.

Max Kronberg and Daniel Blickle won the Am class battle as their W&S Porsche finished a fraction ahead of the Gazoo Racing Sweden Supra of Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen.

The session did suffer one stoppage, when Pedro Garcia hit the barrier in the #74 Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin, but running resumed with 10 minutes remaining.

Free Practice 2 is set for 17:25.
