Saintéloc Racing will return to the GT4 European Series this year with a trio of Audi R8s, headlined by last year’s Pro-Am class champions Grégory Guilvert and Fabien Michal signing up to defend their crown.
The Saint-Etienne-based team made a huge impression during its first full GT4 European Series campaign last season, scooping both the Pro-Am drivers’ and teams’ titles. For this year it will again field three Audi R8 LMS GT4s, with two cars set for the Pro-Am class, and one for the Silver Cup.
The most recognisable will be the blue and black #42 car of Guilvert and Michal, who celebrated an incredible seven race wins and four further podium finishes on their way to the 2021 championship in dominant fashion.
They will be joined in the Pro-am ranks by Olivier Estèves and Anthony Beltoise, who step up from the French GT Championship. The pair were race winners in French GT last season, and Beltoise boasts a long career with multiple titles in both French GT and the Porsche Carrera Cup.
Saintéloc’s Silver Cup Audi will be raced by series returnee Roee Meyuhas and Erwan Bastard, who steps across from the French GT Championship.
Saintéloc Racing team principal Sébastien Chetail said: “We will still be involved in the GT4 European Series and in the French FFSA GT Championship in 2022. After winning the GT4 European Series title in 2021, and after having won three Drivers' titles between 2018 and 2020 in the FFSA GT – narrowly failing to win a fourth crown last year – we intend to keep up this momentum of good results. To this end, we will be reunited with some of the team's well-known faces from recent seasons, both in France and in Europe, but also with some new drivers. With this mix of experience and youth, we hope to continue the momentum of successful seasons since the introduction of the GT4 regulations.”
