Mirage Racing Alpine hits the front in second Barcelona practice

Castelli lapped the 4.675km track in 1m55.579s, putting him 0.382s clear of the second placed #4 Team Speedcar Audi of Robert Consani and Benjamin Lariche. Consani’s time put him on top in the Silver Cup, with the #17 V8 Racing Chevrolet of Thijmen Nabuurs and Jop Rappange setting the third fastest time this afternoon.

Not far behind in fourth overall was the fastest Am Cup entrant, the #69 Team Fullmotorsport Audi of Michael Blanchemain and Christophe Hamon. In fact, Hamon’s time was just one millisecond slower than Nabuurs' fastest time.

The #30 CMR Alpine (Beltoise/Cabirou), the #22 Allied Racing Porsche (Sturm/Buus) and the #55 Mirage Racing Aston Martin (Canning/Del Sarte) completed the Silver Cup top five and overall top seven.

Second quickest in Pro-Am and eight overall was the #87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG of Jim Pla and Jean-Luc Beaubelique, beating the #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG by just 0.063s. Ivan Jacoma and Max Busnelli were third in Pro-Am and tenth overall in the #718 Centri Porsche Ticino entry.

AGS Events Eric Herr and Nicolas Gomar finished second in the Am Cup, with Paolo Meloni and Massimiliano Tresoldi taking third place in class.

Free Practice 2 saw two Full Course Yellow phases. The first one was the result of the #25 Sainteloc Racing Audi going into the gravel trap at turn 2, while the #4 Team Speedcar Audi triggered the second one when it stopped on track at turn 16. The #33 SVC Sport Management Toyota did not take part in Free Practice 2 following its Free Practice 1 incident.
