Academy Motorsport will field an additional Ford Mustang S650 GT4 at Circuit Paul Ricard for Ford Racing Junior Team drivers Marco Signoretti and Jenson Altzman.
The British team had already confirmed the #61 entry of Erik Evans and Nathan Vanspringel, and will now field a second #62 Ford for the season-opener.
Canadian Signoretti is well known in the GT4 Europe paddock and was a double race-winner alongside Evans in Academy’s entry last season. American Altzman will be making his European racing debut around his IMSA commitments in the US where he is currently racing both a Myers Riley Motorsport Mustang GT3 and a McCumbee McAleer Racing Mustang GT4 in Pirelli GT4 America.
This entry brings the total number of Ford Junior Team members to six for this coming weekend, with Signoretti and Altzman joining Evans/Vanspringel in the sister car and Michiel Haverans/Sam Paley in the TeamFloral Mustang.
Academy Motorsport team manager Les Jones says: “To have four members of the Ford Racing Driver Development Team under the Academy Motorsport banner at Paul Ricard is something we're incredibly proud of. It speaks volumes about the environment we've built here and the confidence Ford Racing has in us to develop their drivers at the highest level. Both pairings are well-matched and highly motivated — it should make for a very strong round.”
Team owner Matt Nicoll-Jones added: “The Ford relationship is central to everything we do, and having four of their driver development team members in our GT4 European Series squad is a real statement of our relationship with Ford. We're looking forward to seeing what all four drivers can do.”
