Nova signs up for full-season GT4 Europe campaign

The Nova Racing team will tackle the full GT4 European Series for the first time this year after renewing its successful collaboration with W&S Motorsport.

The Swedish team has only entered selected events with its vibrant green Porsche across the last two seasons, but will now commit to a full campaign with drivers Edvin Hellsten and Daniel Nilsson at the wheel of the #27 Pro-Am 718 Cayman RS CS GT4.

Nova will benefit from technical support from top Porsche squad W&S Motorsport across the year after the two teams forged a strong partnership over recent seasons.

Hellsten and Nilsson have been regular points scorers in their appearances so far, with a fourth place in the season finale at Barcelona being the highlight of last season. Hellsten also qualified the car an impressive fourth overall during that final weekend. Prior to that they scored two podium finishes across 2024, taking home class silverware from both Hockenheim and Monza.

While the pair have experience of most of the tracks on the schedule, this year will be their first starts at Circuit Paul Ricard, which hosts the opening event on April 10-12. However, with a strong technical partnership and experienced driver line-up, Nova Racing is gearing up for what could be its most competitive season to date.

Edvin Hellsten says: “The start of the 2026 season is around the corner, and I am thrilled to drive a full season together with Daniel. I’m looking forward to yet another season continuing the collaboration with Nova Racing and W&S Motorsport – a combination that has been running successfully as we now enter our third year together. With even more experience and confidence this year, I believe we can be very competitive alongside the other top drivers in the championship. We will aim to bring home some podiums and drink some champagne!”

“My biggest challenge this year will be the, for me unknown, track Circuit Paul Ricard. But I like challenges and I am looking forward to adding another European circuit to my record. Let’s do what we love and just send it!”

Daniel Nilsson says: “I’m looking forward to the 2026 season in GT4 Europe, competing in collaboration between Nova Racing and W&S Motorsport. It will be my first time racing a full season in the series and being able to compete against strong competition is something I really appreciate.

“The goal is of course to achieve the best possible results, but above all I want to continue developing, gain experience and have a really good season together with Nova and W&S. Hopefully hard work and good preparation will lead to some great results during the year – perhaps even a few good laughs as an added bonus.”

Nova Racing team principal Axel Hellsten adds: “I have full confidence in our drivers. Daniel is showing impressive progress, constantly improving and chasing his dream of becoming a top GT racer. Edvin and Daniel are not only fast on track, but they also know how to mix speed with plenty of laughs in the paddock – an unbeatable duo. Continuing our partnership with W&S Motorsport gives us a super-strong line-up with our Porsche. I’m genuinely looking forward to a fun and competitive season across Europe.”
