The entire SRO Motorsports Group family is saddened by the news that long-term competitor Louis-Philippe Soenen has passed away.
The popular Belgian driver was a regular competitor in a range of SRO categories, including more recently both the GT Sports Club and GT4 European Series. His extensive racing career includes success in a variety of Ferraris, from 458 Challenge cars to the more modern 488 GT3 which he last campaigned in the GT Sports Club with the AF Corse team in 2019.
His cars often wore the distinctive green and white colours of the family Soenen corrugated cardboard business. Soenen also handled a Mercedes-AMG GT4 with the Selleslagh Racing Team in the 2018 GT4 European Series and had a long association with Team WRT, often racing its Audi R8 GT3s and he was also a class winner in the 2017 24 Hours of Spa aboard a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car.
A prolific racer and owner of his own Soenen Racing team, he was a well-liked and respected character, and his presence in the paddock will be missed by many. The SRO Motorsports Group extends its deepest condolences to his family and friends.
