Razoon – More than Racing reveals twin entries

Razoon – More than Racing will field a two-marque attack on this year’s GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club after revealing both a Porsche 718 Cayman RS CS and a BMW M4 GT4 for the coming campaign.

The Austrian team returns to the championship this year, having been a regular frontrunner in both GT4 Germany and endurance racing around the world across recent seasons.

Razoon has signed Richard Wolf and Gustavo Xavier to share its Porsche, while Rick Bouthoorn and Önder Erdem will handle the BMW. Both cars will run in the Pro-am category.

German driver Wolf will be making his championship debut this season, having warmed up with Razoon in the recent GT4 Winter Series, where he celebrated five podium finishes on his way to third in the Am class points. Swiss driver Xavier will be entering his second full GT4 Europe season, but boasts a deep experience of GT racing from German VLN and 24 Hour Series programmes.

Dutch teenager Bouthoorn excelled in European karting before switching to car racing. He first joined Razoon in 202 and won that year’s single-make KTM X-Bow Championship. He has raced GT4 machinery since 2022 and has marked himself out as one to watch in the German GTC series. Turkish racer Erdem has raced sporadically in GT4 Europe since 2018 and is well know to the Razoon team. He also contested this year’s GT4 Winter Series, scoring four Am class podium finishes aboard the BMW M4.

Richard Wolf says: “After my first full season in GTC racing and after the GT Winter Series, I think I have a good chance of achieving respectable results. In Gustavo Xavier I have a fast pro at my side and with Razoon I have an experienced racing team - but of course it will be an extremely challenging year in an international environment.”

Gustavo Xavier says: “I'm looking forward to another season in the GT4 European Series. My goal is still to develop into one of the best drivers in this category and to fight for victories in the medium term. I am convinced that Razoon is the ideal team for this.”

Rick Bouthoorn says: “I'm delighted to be driving for Razoon in the GT4 European Series after the great successes we've enjoyed together in recent years. With the BMW M4 GT4 and Önder as my team-mate, I am sure that 2024 will be a successful season.”

Razoon – More Than Racing team owner Dominik Olbert said: “I was actually on the grid for the GT4 European Series back in 2019, when I shared a cockpit with Önder Erdem in a KTM X-BOW GT4. If you see the development the series has done, it is fair to say that it is by far the strongest and toughest GT4 racing series in the world. The grids are huge, the time gaps are minimal and the battles are extremely tough. But we love the challenge and firmly believe that we have two great Pro-Am driver pairings with whom we can pull off a surprise or two.

“Nevertheless, we will approach the matter humbly. It's our first year in the series and we still have a lot of experience to gain, as do our drivers. Personally, though, I'm really looking forward to getting things started."
