Piana and Schrey will share a BMW M4 GT4 run by Hofer Racing by Bonk Motorsport, the same team with which they claimed last year’s ADAC GT4 Germany title.
Italian Piana has a successful history in the GT4 European Series, having finished second in the Pro-Am points back in 2019, celebrating five race wins along the way in BMW run by RN Vision STS. Piana then graduated to the Silver Cup category in 2020, scoring two more race wins on the way to sixth in the points.
Spa will be German driver Schrey’s maiden appearance in the GT4 European Series, however he too has a wealth of GT racing experience having raced successfully in VLN and 24H Series events in the past.
Together Piana and Schrey won five of the 12 GT4 Germany races held last season to secure the title, and this year they run second in the points with a further two wins.
The GT4 European Series races at Spa-Francorchamps will run on the undercard of the world-famous TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, and the grid will also feature entries from the GT4 Scandinavia series.
