AGS completes its Aston Martin trio with Del Sarte and Verdier

AGS, which won the overall GT4 European Series Teams’ title back in 2020, has already laid out its plans for both its first two entries, and will now add a third Vantage GT4 for Dutchman del Sarte and Frenchman Verdier in the Silver Cup category.

Del Sarte returns for his second GT4 European Series campaign, having finished eighth in the Silver Cup last year with the Mirage Racing team. Previously he had graduated through the British Ginetta Junior Championship and raced in British GT.

Verdier will make his GT4 debut this season after stepping up from the French Caterham Cup, where he dominated last year’s 420R Cup competition, celebrating six race wins on his way to the championship crown.

Ruben del Sarte said: “I am delighted to have signed with AGS. Since I entered the GT4 category I have always followed the team’s results and teaming up with AGS for this year is a real honour. I am very motivated to try and win the GT4 European Series title together with Tom. Thanks to [team head] Nicolas Gomar and the whole AGS team for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get started at Imola.”

Tom Verdier said: “It is an exceptional opportunity for me to join a team as efficient and professional as AGS Events. Despite my championship last season in the Caterhams, I didn’t get here easily. It’s a dream come true and I’m very proud to be making the move. It gives me more motivation than ever to give it my all and get the best possible results. All of the ingredients are in place for us to achieve great things this year. I can’t wait to get out on track at Imola.”

AGS Events team principal Nicolas Gomar added: “I am very happy to have a third car competing this year and I believe Ruben and Tom will achieve great things this season, with the overall aim of taking the GT4 European Series crown.”

The team will also run Huge Condé and Noah Andy in its second Silver Cup Aston Martin Vantage GT4, plus Julien Lambert and Wilfried Cazalbon in its Am class entry.
