Canning lapped the 5.1 km Grand Prix circuit in a time of 2m05.174s in the #55 Aston Martin he shares with Ruben Del Sarte. The British driver set his fastest lap some 40 minutes into the session and none of the other crews managed to beat that time in the remaining part of the second practice session.
Jim Pla was second quickest overall, taking the top spot in the Pro-Am Cup with the in the #87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG that he will race together with Jean-Luc Beaubelique. Third place went to the #13 Team Zakspeed Mercedes-AMG, with Theo Nouet setting the time.
Current Silver Cup points leaders Bailey Voisin and Charlie Fagg in the #23 United Autosports McLaren finished the session in fourth overall, ahead of the #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG and the #32 United Autosports McLaren that set the fastest time in the opening session earlier today.
Thijmen Nabuurs clocked the seventh time in the #17 V8 Racing Chevrolet, with Berkay Besler putting the #12 Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport BMW in eight, ahead of the fastest Am Cup contender - the #18 Hella Pagid - racing one Aston Martin of Markus Lungstrass and Henrik Lyngbye Pedersen. The #70 Trivellato Racing by Villorba Corse Mercedes-AMG completed the overall top 10.
Race control declared a Full Course Yellow period for five minutes early in the session after the #32 McLaren spun into the gravel at turn 8. The car was recovered and rejoined the session. There were a couple of other incidents with cars running into each other or into the tyre walls, but they were covered with local yellow flags.
