Youth and experience for GR Sweden’s twin Toyotas

The Gazoo Racing Sweden team will return to the GT4 European Series with a twin Toyota attack this year, which includes its first-ever entry into the Silver class.

The Swedish team has been a regular in the series since joining full-time in 2024, having been the dominant force within GT4 Scandinavia before that.

Father-and-son Mikael and Christoffer Brunnhagen have been part of every one of the team’s GT4 Europe campaigns and will return for a third attempt at the Am class honours aboard the #55 GR Supra GT4 EVO2. With seven podium finishes across their two seasons so far, plus a third-place finish in last year’s points, they are hunting both their breakthrough victory and a shot at the class title.

The second #29 Supra is all-new, featuring rising talents Henry Joslyn and Maximilian Boström. British driver Joslyn enjoyed a successful karting career before switching to car racing in the UK Ginetta Junior Championship, becoming a multiple race winner and finishing fourth in his second season. Last year he competed in FIA British F4, scoring an impressive five pole positions and seven podium finishes. At just 16, he will be one of the youngest drivers on this year’s grid.

His team-mate Boström will be making both his GT4 and car racing debut this year. The 19-year-old has established himself as a leading driver in Swedish karting, winning last year’s Rotax Max Challenge and earning himself an invite to represent Team Sweden in the World Finals in Bahrain. He has gained experience by testing a Porsche 718 GT4 RS CS and will now switch to the wheel of the GR in Europe.

Gazoo Racing Sweden team principal Tobias Johansson said: “We’re really excited to be back in GT4 Europe, and with two very exciting driver line-ups. We love the level of competition in the series, and the fact we race at some incredible circuits against great teams and drivers. We learn that bit more with every season we do.

“I’m really pleased to have two cars with so much potential, with the mixture of youth and experience. In Mikael and Christoffer we have two drivers who know the series and the racing, having competed with us for a few years now. They have developed a lot since their first season and should be right up there in the Am class fight.

“This will also be our first-ever entry into the Silver class, with Henry and Maximilian. They are two young drivers who have already achieved a lot in karting and single-seaters, and they have been testing with us for some time and have been very impressive already. No doubt they will have a lot to learn as it’s a big step up for them but they are ready for it and will be ones to watch.

“This will also be our sixth season partnered with Gazoo Racing. The GR Supra is a great product, very high quality and very good to drive. The success it had across last year shows that. We get a lot of support from the factory with our test and race programmes, and the guys are just fantastic to work with, so we are looking forward to a strong season ahead.”
