2026 Calendar: Portimão to host season showdown

The GT4 European Series powered by RAFA Racing Club will make its first-ever trip to Portimão (Autodromo do Algarve) next season, with the Portuguese circuit set to play host to the 2026 season finale.

The GT4 Europe title battle will continue to be played out across 12 races at six events, with the series forming a key part of the support package for the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS.

Starting at Circuit Paul Ricard in France in April, the series then travels to Monza in May before once again playing a starring role on the undercard of the world’s biggest GT event, the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa in June.

Misano – one of the cornerstones of the calendar since 2017 having featured in every season but one since – continues in its July date, with Zandvoort earning a second consecutive year following a successful return to the Dutch dunes this season. The seaside venue switches from being round two to holding the penultimate event of the year in September.

That paves the way for the biggest change, with Portimão set to make its first appearance on the GT4 European Series calendar to host the seasonal showdown. While it has never featured on the schedule of the current series, Portimão did stage two rounds of the old GT4 European Cup, including the 2009 season finale and penultimate event in 2010.

The 4.6km circuit is a regular host of world-class events, such as MotoGP and World Superbikes, and has also hosted two Formula 1 grands prix (2020-2021).

For a seventh consecutive season, every GT4 Europe round will run alongside the GT World Challenge powered by AWS, allowing competitors to benefit from the significant exposure of racing alongside the world’s biggest GT series.
