RN Vision STS Racing Team completes line-up

With the announcement of the Italian-Dutch driver pairing, the German team has completed its line-up for the 2020 GT4 European Series. Last month, Mark van der Aa and Koen Bogaerts were already confirmed in the other BMW.

Piana (33) will start his fourth year with RN Vision STS Racing Team in the GT4 European Series. Piana won several races in the championship and finished second in the Pro-Am Cup in 2019. He also won the BMW Sports Trophy last year.

"First of all, I am overjoyed to be able to continue my story as a driver with RN Vision STS. We are heading into the 5th year together! We were successful with the BMW in 2018 & 2019, even if we had some bad luck," Piana commented.

"For 2020 we will bring together everything we have learned and I am sure that we will be stronger than ever before! I'm looking forward to being back in the car and starting to work with my new team mate Bas Schouten. He has the experience and skills to achieve great things and I will do everything I can to achieve our goals!"

Teammate Schouten (25) is new to the Mönchengladbach based team, but the Dutchman is definitely not new to the GT4 European Series. The Dutchman raced a Selleslagh Racing Team Mercedes-AMG GT4 in select rounds of the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

"I am very happy to be part of the RN Vision STS family starting this season. I would also like to thank Koen and Mark for establishing contact with RN Vision STS. And of course it's super cool that they will be driving the other BMW in the team as team mates," said Schouten.

Piana and Schouten are set to complete in the Silver class of the series.

"Gabriele has been part of the RN Vision STS crew since its founding and is a solid pillar in the team's success. He enriches us enormously with his experience in GT sports, which he shares with the other drivers of our team," team owner Marek Zuchowski said.

"A warm welcome to Bas Schouten as well. Another talent in our driver squad. I'm sure that Gabriele and Bas are a promising driver combination. The fight for the title will certainly not be easy, but with this top duo we are well prepared," Zuchowski added.

Team manager Veit-Valentin Vincentz: "During the winter we tested extensively with various drivers, including very strong and talented drivers. After these preparations we, are extremely happy to be able to start a second, enormously strong pairing in the GT4 European Series."

"The skills of the two drivers will complement each other perfectly. Apart from his expertise and the will to work hard for the success of the team, Bas, just like Gabi, is just really likeable! I'm looking forward to the season, even if the start may be postponed indefinitely, it will be a celebration in the circle of this driver quartet."
