Yesterday's official test sessions already promised close lap times, and Free Practice 1 delivered. An early charge allowed the Team Speedcar #111 Audi to lead 15 minutes in. Its 2'13.623 lap time was enough at that point to hold off Jessica Bäckman in the #19 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 by – wait for it – 0.006 seconds!
That top 2 then remained unchanged for a while, but with 20 minutes left, the #30 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS of W&S Motorsport took over briefly, before the #7 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT4 of Mirage Racing by MB Performance hit an even faster 2'13.318.
The third different brand to take the lead, and by putting in another quickest lap at 2'13.196, Louis Meric managed to keep that Aston Martin on top, holding off a strong final push by the CSA Racing #111 Audi R8 LMS GT4 and the Borusan Otomotiv #12 BMW M4 GT4.
Quickest Pro-Am car was W&S Motorsport's #30 Porsche, eventually lapping fifth quickest overall. Honours in Am class went to the #55 Alpine A110 GT4 EVO of Autosport GP LS Group Performance, good for 14th overall, just before the quickest GT4 Scandinavia crew: the M-Bilar #298 BMW M4 GT4 in fifteenth place.
With 20 cars seperated by less than one second, things are looking very promising for Free Practice 2 on Friday afternoon, scheduled for 17.30 CEST.
