Tom Emson and Josh Rattican remain with Elite Motorsport for 2023 to graduate with the progressive Norfolk squad for its first foray in the GT4 European Series. The duo are relishing the prospect of racing the all-new McLaren Artura GT4 on top-tier circuits around mainland Europe.
Elite took delivery of its first Artura last year and are benefitting from the wealth of experience offered by Entire Race Engineering with its McLaren programme. Emson and Rattican, Elite’s Ginetta Junior & SuperCup race winning duo, have since clocked up around 2,000km in testing. The team’s second McLaren was delivered recently.
Tom Emson: “I’m really looking forward to competing in the GT4 European Series – it’s a championship I have been aiming for and monitoring for a number of years. It’s a fantastic opportunity for me to race the new McLaren Artura and while I’ll be needing to learn the circuits, it’s our intention is to be challenging for podiums.
Josh Rattican: “I am extremely excited to be competing in the European GT4 Series in 2023 and looking forward to racing at a new range of tracks that I've not raced at before; against a higher level of (international) competition. With a full grid of 51 cars, the series is going to be an exciting but tough competition. I'm especially excited to be driving the new McLaren Artura GT4, it a fantastic well-engineered race car. Based on our limited pre-season testing, I feel a good connection with the car and believe it be very competitive. I'm confident that Tom and I will be up the sharp end of the grid.”
Ed Ives: “I'm extremely excited to announce that Josh and Tom will race together in our first McLaren. They are both fast drivers and have a great relationship within Elite. We can’t wait to work together in Europe. I want to say a massive thank you to our team sponsors, Entire Race Engineering, who without their help with this project, none of it would have happened.”
