Busnelli sets the pace for Centri Porsche Ticino in first Zandvoort practice

The opening practice at the Dutch venue was rescheduled to Saturday morning following heavy thunderstorms on Friday. Just after 8:00 the engines of 39 GT4 cars were fired up again for a 55-minute run on the 4.259 km track.

Busnelli’s time of 1m43.914s in the Porsche he shares with Ivan Jacoma set in the early part of the session remained unbeaten throughout the remainder of the first practice.The Italian’s fastest lap was almost half a second quicker than the fastest time of the #87 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG of Jim Pla and Jean-Luc Beaubelique.

The #70 Trivellato Racing by Villorba Corse Mercerdes-AMG of Jean-Luc D’Auria and Jamie Caroline was third on track, its time of 1m44.410s enough to lead the Silver Cup ranks. The #34 Selleslagh Racing Team Mercedes-AMG of Luca Bosco and Olivier Hart was fourth, followed by the #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG of Xavier Lloveras and Lluc Ibanez and the #55 Mirage Racing Aston Martin of Tom Canning and Ruben del Sarte.

Michael Blanchemain and Christophe Hamon were fastest in Am Cup in the #69 Team Fullmotorsport Audi, despite a spin for Blanchemain at Hunzerug. The 1m45.495s was just 0.005s faster than the #18 Hella Pagid - racing one Aston Martin, while AKKA ASP’s Mauro and Benjamin Ricci took third in class.

The GT4 teams will be back out again at 12:00 for the second practice session, followed by qualifying at 18:05. The two races at Zandvoort are scheduled for tomorrow.
