A team well known in the paddocks of the SRO Motorsports Group championships, AKKA-ASP Team will take up the challenge in the GT4 European Series by entering three cars this season. The team, founded by Jérôme Policand in 1999, will enter Mercedes-AMG GT4s in each of the three categories of the GT4 European Series.
Paul Ricard Pro-Am Cup race winners Jean-Luc Beaubelique and Jim Pla will continue to race together this season in all six rounds of the GT4 European Series, as well as the French FFSA GT Championship. Given their performance in the final round of the 2020 campaign, the crew of the #87 Mercedes-AMG GT4 should be considered as serious title contenders in the category this year.
Timothé Buret joins AKKA-ASP Team after competing in the CMR Toyota GR Supra GT4 in 2020. Buret, who has amassed a wealth of experience in sportscar and GT racing in recent years, will share his the #88 Mercedes-AMG GT4 with fellow French driver Paul Evrard. Evrard made his GT4 debut in France at the end of the 2019 season and finished in the top six of the French championship in 2020. Next to their GT4 European Silver Cup entry, Buret and Evrard will also race together in the French championhip.
Completing the 2021 AKKA-ASP Team GT4 Euroepan Series lineup are Mauro Ricci and Benjamin Ricci in the #61 Mercedes-AMG GT4. They will race together in the Am Cup.
The 2021 GT4 European Series season gets underway at Monza on April 16-18.
