Well aware that their 'muscle car' is slightly older than other cars on the grid, V8 Racing was still able to make a name for itself during several weekends in last year's season. Drivers Dante Rappange from the Netherlands and Kenny Herremans from Belgium (who will once again share the driving this season) managed to show the Camaro amongst the front runners on more than one occasion. They concluded the very last race in Barcelona with an overall win and finished the season vice-champions in Pro-Am class.
For 2023, it will be a matter of wait-and-see what the Camaro can achieve in Silver class, but V8 Racing obviously realizes the challenge will not be an easy one. In the entry list, which again features a large number of cars, the Camaro meets a lot of competition with especially many new cars.
No matter for both drivers, who remain extremely motivated and hope to get behind the wheel very soon for their first test laps.
Dante Rappange explains: “Last year was my first year in GT4 and I dare to say I was able to show myself and above all... I enjoyed it immensely! This year I want to confirm and considering I am driving the same car and teammate, I am confident we can bag some nice results again.”
Kenny Herremans concludes: “To be very honest, I had never thought or dreamed that we could achieve what we achieved last year. Thanks to the team which often picked out the right strategy, we were almost always at the front. This year, I think, will be more difficult because our car is not the youngest and the latest generation GT4 cars are a bit easier to drive and of course a lot lighter, but that makes the challenge even more attractive. Let me mainly say that I am already very happy that thanks to some loyal partners I can participate in this beautiful championship again and that we will definitely try to make it difficult for the title contenders wherever we can.”
