BCMC Motorsport and EastSide Motorsport merge into SAX Motorsport

It was big news, announced also on this very website back in early november: BCMC Motorsport and EastSide Motorsport will tackle the 2024 season of the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club as one team, and will switch to Aston Martin.

One important detail was still to be announced, and this week the new team has announced their all-important new name. As a reference to their Saxon-based origins, the new entity will be called SAX Motorsport GmbH

With this merger the teams are combining their expertise in the areas of sport/engineering, marketing and sponsor support. The racing team's new headquarters will be in Plauen, while technical support will continue to be based in Crimmitschau, Saxony.

As announced earlier, SAX Motorsport will be running the brand-new 2024 Aston Martin AMR Vantage GT4. The plan is to compete with two cars each in the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club (alongside a two-car entry in the ADAC GT4 Germany championship).

According to the team's latest communications, the team is looking to stick with existing drivers but wil also keep an eye out for new up-and-coming talent. Driver pairings are yet to be announced, but all drivers interested are welcome to get in touch with Florian Schön at f.schoen@sax-motorsport.com.

To be continued...
