Team Speedcar Audi tops blistering Free Practice 2 at Misano
  • #3 Team Speedcar Audi (Lariche/Consani) quickest overall

  • #20 EastSide Motorsport Mercedes-AMG fastest again in Pro-Am

  • #55 Autosport GP LS Group Performance Alpine quickest in Am Cup

  • #42 Pro-Am Audi only championship leader to feature in top 3 of its class

Straight into the second Free Practice Session of the day, a trio of cars showed excellent pace and featured in the top 3 lap times at a number of different occasions. Just passed the halfway mark, those three crews were the only one to dive under the 1'41''-barrier, and would remain unchallenged throughout the final 20 minutes.

Best of the lot was the #3 Team Speedcar Audi (Lariche/Consani), followed by this morning's front runner #15 NM Racing Team Mercedes-AMG (Papadopoulos/Ibanez) and the #110 Autosport GP LS Group Performance Alpine of Tirman/Cauhaupe.

Some minor incidents caused two short Full course yellow procedures, but with the last of those coming just minutes before the chequered flag, most of the ranking was frozen in place.

Bulatov/Mayer bagged the quickest lap in Pro-Am for the second time today in their #20 EastSide Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT4. Also in good shape was the #45 Fullmotorsport Audi R8 LMS GT4 (Abramczyk/Vozniak) taking the second quickest Pro-Am lap, before championship leaders Guilvert/Hamon in the #42 Saintéloc Junior Team Audi.

Am Cup leaders in FP2 were Hurgon/Ferté in the #55 Autosport GP LS Group Performance Alpine A110 GT4 EVO from 24th overall. The #75 Centri Porsche Ticino 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS of Leutwiler/Jacoma and the #53 W&D Racing Team BMW M4 GT4 of Tresoldi/Meloni complete the Am top three.

In the end, six different brands made it into the top 10, the most notable absence there being the #8 Xwift Racing Events Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO of Potty/Cheli, who were still getting to grips with the replacement car that was sourced just hours before the session started.

Free Practice 2 wraps up Friday's action at Misano. Tomorrow, teams and drivers go all-in when Qualifying starts at 10.00 CEST, followed by Race 1 at 17.30 CEST. Race 2 concludes the fourth round of the GT4 European Series Powered by RAFA Racing Club on Sunday, July 16 at 10.25 CEST.
